World Trade Center Wedding in Portland | Hanh & Jason

Happiest wedding couple ever + wedding llamas?!? Yes, please!!! We really can’t imagine what would be more fun than photographing this day and this couple in beautiful Portland, Oregon. It was absolutely perfect with the bride and groom and the entire wedding party on a rooftop plus a helicopter pad! So fun! Their wedding ceremony at The World Trade Center took place in the Sky Bridge Terrace. This atrium is an incredible space for a wedding ceremony. It features floor to ceiling windows with a stunning view of the river and some of Portland’s bridges.

We truly loved photographing Hanh and Jason’s wedding. Their smiles were certainly contagious. All their family and friends had the most amazing time celebrating their marriage. This is exactly the type of celebration we love to be a part of. Congratulations, Hanh and Jason! XOXO Rebecca & Jerome

How They Met (from the bride)

I met Jason in January of 2008. I went out for one of my bridesmaid’s birthdays at a bar called Olive or Twist. I was ordering a drink at the bar when Jason saw me. He asked me what kind of drink I was getting, and I think he asked me for a sip to try out the drink. It was a Marion Berry Martini I believe. We only spoke for a few minutes, then I went back to my friends. About a week later he found me on Myspace and messaged me asking me what that drink that I ordered at Olive or Twist was called. That was the line that he used to try to get my attention and connect with me to ask me out. LOL!

The Proposal

I just graduated from Concordia University in April 2017 with my bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration. As a graduation gift, Jason took me to Paris to celebrate. We saw all of the tourist sites, and toward the end of our trip I suggested that we go back to the Eiffel Tower, buy some pastries, have some wine at the Parc du Champs De Mars, and watch the Eiffel Tower light up at 9 PM. When it lit up at 9 o’clock, he asked me to stand up and when I turned back he was on his knees. This is exactly what he said “I don’t know what to say, but will you marry me?” HAHAHA!

Wedding Details

I asked my brother Matthew if he could make my altar for me because no vendor had what I was looking for. I showed him a few pictures of what I would like. Matthew was not sure if he could make it, but he said it turned out to be an easy and fun project. It was so special to me, because I can keep and cherish it forever. We received tons of compliments about it on our wedding day.

Favorite Memories From Our Wedding Day

LLAMAS!! They were the absolute cutest. The World Trade Center doesn’t allow animals on the premises, but I pushed really hard to get them to be at the reception. I was ecstatic that they allowed the wedding llamas. It was the best part of the wedding and my friends and family still talk about it. Our wedding guests each got to take a photo and feed the llamas. Another favorite memory is walking down the aisle and seeing Jason cry. He is one of those tough persona guys who never show their vulnerabilities, and I thought that it was the sweetest thing to see him cry watching me walk down the aisle with my dad.

Advice for Engaged Couples

Do everything as early as possible. If you cannot afford a wedding planner, at least hire a wedding coordinator for the day of your wedding. I had no idea what was going on behind the scenes because my day of wedding coordinator took care of everything so that I did not have to worry about a thing. I was able to enjoy my day with Jason without any worries. Not everything will go as planned so just go with the flow. Don’t let little details bother you. All that matters is you should enjoy your day because it will go by so quickly.
