Oregon Golf Club Wedding | Camille & Blake

Camille and Blake chose the beautiful Oregon Golf Club in West Linn, Oregon as their wedding venue. They wanted to keep the wedding theme formal using black and white as the main color scheme with just a hint of color in the floral arrangements. Their wedding was not completely traditional. Instead of having cake for dessert, they treated their wedding guests to some yummy ice cream. Camille and Blake absolutely love ice cream way more than cake so it was important to share their love of ice cream with their wedding guests! For the send-off, instead of a sparkler exit, they went with glow sticks, because, according to Camille, “I am terrified of drunk people holding sparklers”. I don’t blame her! That is a total legit fear to have. LOL!!! And the glow sticks were a hit during the dance party. As for the wedding reception décor, giant glitter balloons with beautiful greenery draping down from them were part of the centerpieces. The Proposal (from the bride)

Blake and I knew each other in high school, but didn’t officially meet until we were encouraged to date by a mutual friend. I sent Blake a message asking him out. He said yes, and we have been together ever since. That was five years ago. He proposed to me at a pumpkin patch in the POURING rain. I knew the proposal was coming because he had left a wedding ring website up on our shared computer 🙂 It was an automatic “YES!” from me, and then we immediately ran to the car to escape the rain.

Favorite Memories

My favorite memory from our wedding day was seeing Blake for the first time. We decided to have our first look in the garden ceremony area at The Oregon Golf Club. It was such a special moment for us, and it was the perfect way to kick off our couple photos with ANIKO Photography. Blake’s favorite memory was listening to all the toasts at the reception…especially his dad’s. Blake wanted me to add that one really unique thing that we had at our wedding was shirtless groomsmen…LOL!!! Yes, they took off their jackets and shirts and only wore their vests during the dance party portion of the day. But, we can’t blame them. It was a hot day!

We both also loved dancing with our parents. I personally wanted to include my mom, Sue, and enjoy a special moment with her that celebrated our relationship. So much about the bride relates to her and her dad, so I wanted my mom to have a special moment. The song “Run Around Sue” is our song. We blast it around the house and dance around when I’m over at my parent’s house. After the mother/son dance I called my mom out of her chair and the song started playing. She was so surprised!

Advice to Engaged Couples

Blake suggests letting the bride take care of everything 🙂 I recommend hiring a coordinator, spending money on photos and video, and soaking in every moment because the night goes by way too fast!
