Scholls Valley Lodge Oregon Wedding | Portland Wedding Photographer

You know you have found the one when you recognize the perfect moment to propose while snuggling at home in your pajamas watching a movie and eating ice cream…when there is no place you’d rather be than enjoying an evening with your best friend. And that’s just what Tim did. As he and Sara watched their favorite series, he swept her up off the sofa. He got down on one knee, pulled the ring out of his PJs and asked her to be his wife. Of course she said, “YES!”, thank goodness for pajamas with pockets!.

A Celebration to Remember

When their big day finally arrived, it was truly a celebration to remember. Carisa and her team at Adornment Events helped pull off the wedding vision. That way, Tim and Sara could relax and just enjoy their wedding and the days leading up to it. Everything took place at Scholls Valley Lodge in Oregon.

The venue is unique in that the lodge itself began as a three story barn built in the 1960s that converted into a beautiful lodge in 2011. Now, it is the perfect place to have an outdoor wedding with plenty of bedrooms for the wedding party to stay and relax in preparation for Wedding Day.

The weather was a little unpredictable, but it all came in perfect timing! The bright sunshine and wind created some breathtaking shots with Sara’s long veil, and a small rain storm added a touch of luck to the wedding day. The ceremony could not have been more picturesque—they stood under a tree overlooking the orchard and rocky horizon. The barn was draped with white linens, and string lights softly glowed across the rafters for a romantic touch.

Pearl Catering provided some delicious, summer-themed treats like mini pies, s’more bars, and berry-topped cupcakes as well as plenty of savory bites. The couple received the royal treatment as their place setting included a red velvet bench.

At the end, their friends and family encircled them for their first dance. IT was truly magical ending to their perfect day!

From the Bride and Groom:

The Proposal

We got engaged in our pajamas. I (Tim) had the ring for a few months, waiting for the right time, right moment. We were watching the new Blue Planet II series in our living room while eating ice cream. During a commercial break, I scooted back the ottoman, pulled Sara to her feet, got down on one knee, pulled the ring out of my PJ pant pocket, and asked her to be my wife. She said YES!

Favorite Memory from Wedding Day

Seeing all of our friends from different stages of life become friends with each other through story telling and dancing. Then having them stick around to the end of the night to form a circle around us for our final dance. With Sara (bride) singing every word to me, and our circle of friends looking on, we ended our wedding with the perfect moment.

Advice for Engaged Couples

Keep things as simple as possible and get a great wedding planner. The special day flies by and you will remember the overall experience, not the small details. Tons of people will offer their advice. Try to keep your stress levels down and remember that it’s all about the bride and groom!
