Shannon and Rhett’s Sunshine Mill wedding in The Dalles, Oregon was so much fun (their wedding party was hilarious!). And the historic mill was stunning. We were allowed to explore the old building and even go up on the rooftop. Shannon and Rhett including Native American traditions in their ceremony. The colorful blanket they were wrapped in during their ceremony was so beautiful. Rhett described the rituals of smudging and the blanket ceremony; “Smudging is used during Native American ceremonies as a cleansing ritual. A way to shift negative energy to a more positive, peaceful state. Smoke attaches itself to the negative energy and removes it to another space. Smudging can be used to cleanse a place, a persona’s spirit, mind or body. Blanket ceremony is seen as a unity ritual, a way to honor the couples and their loved ones as individuals and blessing their new union (via blanket ceremony), which symbolizing joining of the couple and future wishes of love as they begin their new life as a single unit.”

Congratulations again you two!
XOXO Rebecca & Jerome
